We (and our Sheep Dog Holly) moved here from California (Heidi originally from Germany and Craig from Topsfield, Mass.) in 1998 to escape the "rat race" in Los Angeles. We fell in love with the Ozarks, bought a farm, a couple of older Clydesdales, which were extremely forgiving. The Clydes "girls" helped us to learn about horses, understanding them and caring for them. Although sometimes we had the impression that they were laughing at us (maybe with us) a time or two.

As our ranch is such a beautiful spot, very quiet, with lots of wild life, we called it the Meadow View Ranch & Guesthouse, guesthouse simply because we had a cabin build and friends and their friends keep asking us if we could rent it out to them. Well.....now we are a horse motel, giving travelers and their equine buddies a rest from the road. Many people visit us just to enjoy nature and bring their horses and pets. Families also love this ranch, as everybody can help with chores, learn about the animals, explore and just spend time outdoors.

We are a very small family operation, nothing very fancy or elaborate, 1 cabin, 1 barn apartment, 2 small studios, and 17 stalls. We take in neglected or abused and unwanted horses (so far we have 13), adopted a few cats and dogs and enjoy our new life style thoroughly. We used to travel all over the world, working for the airlines, and Craig still travels a great deal now. He would like to have another airplane again, one day, which he can land here on the pastures.

Last year we started raising dairy calves. We spend a lot of time with these calves, they are all very friendly and we thoroughly enjoy raising them. Click here to find out about our calves.
